The purpose of the Research Committee is to facilitate and monitor ongoing research projects and support faculty and residents in the implementation of research projects. Committee meetings are characterized by engaging discussions, which revolve around current studies and potential future projects. The Research Committee provides the opportunity for a peer-review process within the department. The peer-review process offers a dynamic element to the committee, as department members offer their perspectives and work collaboratively to enhance the studies that are being conducted. At meetings, the research team also discusses resource allocation for proposed projects, the status of current projects and updates on other scholarly projects. In addition, the Research Committee serves as a support committee for researchers and provides guidance regarding compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Please refer to the 2010 Research Committee Schedule for future meeting dates.
